6.10-EF Abaqus provides many improvements requested by customers, in areas such as modeling, visualization, contact mechanics and performance. These enhancements allow customers to reduce time and development costs, while increasing the efficiency of product development process through highly accurate simulations of products and behavior of materials under real conditions.
Among the improvements in modeling and visualization in 6.10-EF, include increased support for the modeling capabilities of substructures. Abaqus users can now create a substructure of a particular area of your product, import it into a montage, retrieve the results for analysis and reuse of substructures in future models, saving significant time modeling.
6.10-EF Abaqus offers new contact and mechanical capabilities that improve efficiency and accuracy in simulating the actual performance of the designs, including leakage of fluids between 3D bodies in contact.
The latest version also extends the capabilities of Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM) in Abaqus, allowing users to predict the growth of cracks due to weathering a down cycle, and thermal analysis of heating and cooling phase is produced in the exhaust manifold of an engine. This capability can also be used to accurately predict the durability and damage tolerance of composite structures with complex failure mechanisms.
