Apple announced new software for the iPhone on Tuesday 2009-11-13
Apple introduced the previous software version, 2.0, last summer, almost coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 3.G, which immediately became a bestseller, with 11 million units placed in the six months following their disposal.
The technology group Apple has announced that its March next 17 publicly the new iPhone software, sparking speculation about the possibility of launching new products.
In an invitation sent to reporters, the group announced, without details, that the event to be held at its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., will take a "glimpse" of the iPhone 3.0 software.
The iPhone has become, along with the iPod, Apple's flagship product, and one of its key growth factors.
In 2008 alone, sold nearly 14 million units, up from its objective, which was 10 million.
INDEPENDENT APPLICATIONS
Part of this success is due to applications that independent programmers have created for the iPhone, and sold in the iTunes App Store.
In fact, the presentation on Tuesday, Apple will use to make known to developers of new software developments.
Yet, the invitation sent by the Californian company has unleashed on internet forums speculation about the possibility of new product introductions.
POSSIBLE CHANGES IN THE PATTERN
Thus, the magazine PC World echoes the possibility that Apple provide an update of the external appearance of the iPhone, rather than a renewal of its operating system.
In other media notes that the company could file a netbook, a laptop of small size and low cost, something that experts have been calling for months.
Apple has long faced criticism that their computers are very expensive, especially now that many competitors have been released to manufacturing of netbooks, a very austere computers with internet connection and few benefits.
