Here at Moving, we are obsessed about security. On many occasions I have talked about how to protect our files in numerous ways to avoid falling into the wrong hands. Now, our files are incredibly insured through our precautions but how are our communications? Can anyone read our emails for example? For though hard to believe, if you put a little effort it, anyone with a little technical knowledge can intercept our emails.

But do not let his hands to his head, internet and software is full of resources and for every solution there, and that concerns us today is PGP. Means Pretty Good Privacy PGP (pretty good privacy and translating literally) and is a safety-oriented e-mails which allows us complete privacy in the emails we send and they send us.

Immerse ourselves in the PGP But what is it and how it works?

PGP is not really a system for sending secure emails, but a system of encryption that it does is scramble the contents of our email depart anyone can read it but who we want. It is based on a set of keys so logical and simple, let's say I have a chest with two locks which come all emails encrypted with PGP. I have a key to a lock and another key is copied infinitely which publicly share with anyone. The trunk can be closed with either keys, but only be opened with my key The result? That all emails addressed to me and closed with the key that I have shared with everyone, can only be seen by opening the trunk with the key that I have and that is just for me.

Turning to technical, a person that I want to send a secure email needs to encode the email with the code public (public PGP key) to give me, and when I get it, can only be decoded with the private key I have in my power. And when we say only, it is only because even though computers are increasingly powerful, breaking a PGP key security can take years.
